What to Expect at The Recovery Village Indianapolis

Choosing addiction rehab is a pivotal moment. Discover what awaits you to embark confidently on your journey toward getting your life back from addiction.

Checking In to Inpatient Rehab

We prioritize individualized attention by scheduling admission times promptly upon your call. Arriving on time ensures our care team can dedicate their full attention to your needs, minimizing any delays.

For the safety and sobriety of all patients, each resident must agree to a search of their person and belongings upon arrival. Staff will collect any prohibited items and store them securely until your departure. Random searches may occur during your stay at The Recovery Village Indianapolis.

Our Treatment Process

At The Recovery Village Indianapolis, patients begin treatment in a program tailored to their needs and may transition to lower levels of care as they progress. Typically, treatment starts with medical detox, followed by inpatient rehab care.

Length of Stay

The duration of your stay depends on your program, customized treatment plan, recovery journey, and insurance coverage. Typically, clients may experience:

  • 3–7 days of medical detox
  • 28–30 days of residential onsite care, including medical detox and inpatient rehab levels

What to Pack

Our packing guide ensures you have everything you may need while you’re with us, so you can focus on what’s really important — healing.

If you’re considering using FMLA benefits to protect your job while you’re in rehab, it’s really important to start the process as soon as possible, even before you arrive for treatment. You’ll need to contact your employer to start the paperwork required for FMLA. To protect your privacy, you only need to say you’re seeking medical treatment.

Our Recovery Advocates ensure you arrive at our center safely and on time, regardless of your starting point. You can either book and confirm your travel independently or let us assist you in coordinating travel arrangements. Additionally, we can arrange pick-up and drop-off services to and from the airport, bus stations, or train stations.

At The Recovery Village Indianapolis, our rooms provide a comfortable environment for restorative rest during your recovery journey. Each room is shared with one to two other clients, fostering essential fellowship with a peer in recovery. Additionally, every room is equipped with its own private bathroom. The number of residents per room may vary based on your specific treatment stage and care requirements.

At our facility, clients can enjoy a full-service cafeteria with meals expertly prepared by our onsite chef. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, there are typically several options available, including vegetarian choices. Each meal is crafted to be both delicious and nutritious, supporting clients’ physical and mental well-being as they progress in their recovery journey. Additionally, a snack is provided to ensure clients have access to nourishing food throughout the day.

Please refrain from bringing outside snacks or meals into the facility for the safety of all clients, and inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions beforehand for accommodation.

Clients are expected to maintain cleanliness in their rooms and handle their own laundry, fostering independence and accountability. Some housekeeping services, such as trash removal, are available.

Because healing is your first priority, keeping distractions to a minimum is key for recovery. For the safety and privacy of all patients, cell phones will be securely stored until discharge. After a safety call and an initial 72-hour phone-free stabilization period, patients in detox may have monitored phone calls on the facility line, but no personal phone use. Patients in residential may check out their phone daily from storage at designated times, as long as they have completed their group therapy sessions.

Upon admission, all personal phones will receive a security strip covering the camera. The security strip shall not be tampered with in any manner. If the security strip is tampered with in any manner, the patient’s phone will lead to losing phone privileges.

The Recovery Village Indianapolis allows residents to take periodic smoke breaks during designated times. The timing and frequency of these breaks will be determined based on situational medical recommendations and programming. If you smoke, you will need to bring enough unopened cigarettes or tobacco products for the anticipated length of your stay. Vaporizers and e-cigarettes are permitted, but they must be disposable and not cartridge-based, labeled as Pure Nicotine with no additional additives. Only disposable vapes will be allowed on site, as there will be no ability to charge them. All smoke and vape products must be new and sealed upon arrival at the facility. Vapes and e-cigarettes can only be used in approved outdoors paces. Nicotine gum or lozenges are not permitted.

All patient smoking products are managed by staff and do not stay with the patient. Facility cannot purchase or provide smoking products to patients under 21 and must confiscate these products per Indiana law. Smoking cessation products may be offered during your treatment.

Rebuilding relationships with loved ones is a crucial aspect of treatment. Scheduled family engagement sessions at The Recovery Village Indianapolis include virtual, long-distance, and in-person visits as clinically appropriate. Saturday family visits onsite are also welcome between 1:30 and 3:30 pm, with clinician approval beforehand.

Insurance and Your Obligation During Treatment

Nearly all health insurance plans require you to pay some out-of-pocket costs in order to access your healthcare benefits (collectively, the “Patient Responsibility”).

Your individual Patient Responsibility will vary.

An intake coordinator will review your Patient Responsibility with you when you’re admitted or as soon as you are medically stable. They will explain the deductible is due during admission and that the co-insurance amount and out-of-pocket balance will be bill and paid for once services are complete. Onsite financial counselors will review your financial responsibility again during treatment with case managers who can help you navigate FMLA and short-term disability.

It is your responsibility to check with your insurance provider prior to admitting at The Recovery Village Indianapolis to make sure you understand your individual benefits plan. Please note that your insurance plan may not be a “participating provider” with The Recovery Village Indianapolis. You are responsible for all non-covered and out-of-pocket costs related to your treatment stay.
